Hurricane - 1944

Late summer 1944, a hurricane came up the East Coast and did extensive damage along the Jersey coast and even in Yardville Heights. A big Willow tree in our back yard got blown over and we hooked up a block and tackle to hoist it back into position. Here are Roger and Dad at work.

The damage along the shore was great. Atlantic City lost Heintz pier and the boardwalk was damaged.

Up the coast homes were lost on Long Beach Island.
